More advanced retinal scans
Some eye diseases develop at the very periphery of your eye and often go undetected by traditional examination equipment. At Dr Steve Tang Optometrists, we use Optos Ultra-widefield retinal imaging to provide high resolution images that capture a field of view four times larger than any other scan.
It means we’ll discover, diagnose and treat any problems much sooner, giving you peace of mind that you’re getting the best care.
Expertise in children’s eye care
Dr Tang was trained at the world’s leading eye institution, Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, and at a specialist children’s eye hospital in Scotland. At both, he gained extensive experience in paediatric opthamology, and has since obtained further qualifications in Sydney and Melbourne.
He’s also a local Manly West dad, and has safeguarded the eye health of hundreds of youngsters.
At Dr Steve Tang Optometrists, we make a child’s eye exam fun and reassuring, answering any questions and letting a parent sit in during the session. We recommend Optos scans for all new and returning children, as we’ve found that kids seldom report symptoms they may be having so we don’t want to risk anything being missed.

Myopia or short-sightedness is a common condition where close objects can be seen clearly, but anything further away is blurry.
What many people don’t realise is that, if it’s treated early with myopia control glasses or contact lenses, progression can be reduced by as much as 62%.
